Our host and Mackay travellers will meet at the Mackay Airport and begin the journey to Italy, via Dubai. Travellers leaving from other capital cities will meet up with the group in Dubai ready for our flight to Milan.

Day 2

Wed 19 July 2017
Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival we are transferred to our hotel at Lake Como. This evening we will enjoy a casual welcome dinner with our fellow travellers before enjoying the rest of evening at leisure.

Day 3

Thu 20 July 2017
Today we will enjoy a cruise on Lake Como. Lake Como, also known as Lario, is the third largest of the Italian lakes and also one of the deepest in Europe. Afterwards, we will then have free time to explore at leisure. You may wish to check out the sights of Bellagio, try a traditional risotto at one of the many fabulous restaurants around the lake or simply enjoy watching daily life on the lake.

After checking out we are transferred to our hotel in Milan. Today is our’s to explore at leisure. Known the world over for its high-end fashion and dazzling bounty of artistic landmarks, Milan provides the perfect setting for you to discover it’s hidden delights.

Day 5

Sat 22 July 2017
Today we will enjoy a Milan city tour with visit to Da Vinci’s The Last Supper. We will admire
the grand gothic Duomo and come face-to-face with Leonardo da Vinci’s magnificent fresco, The Last Supper, housed at the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent.

Day 6

Sun 23 July 2017
Today we travel from Milan to Venice. En route we stop in Verona – home to Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. From Verona we journey on to an exclusive wine tasting and multicourse lunch at the Serego Alighieri estate. Once in magical Venice, we will board the River
Countess and begin our exploration of the “Queen of the Adriatic.”

Day 7

Mon 24 July 2017
Today after breakfast we set off to explore Venice on a walking discovery tour. We will then be treated to a Murano glassmaking demonstration at Arti Veneziane alla Giudecca Glass Factory. To finish the day we will enjoy an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime experience at an after-hours lighting
ceremony inside St. Mark’s Basilica without the crowds (if possible). Afterwards we return
to the ship for a Captain’s Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner.

Day 8

Tue 25 July 2017
Admire the magnificent views of “The Floating City’s” greatest sights, including the Grand Canal, as our ship departs Venice and sails the lagoon for Chioggia. For those who wish to travel further back in time, an exploration of one of the oldest cities in Northern Italy, Padua, is the perfect choice. If you would prefer to discover Chioggia, often referred to as “Little Venice”, you can do so with a discovery walking tour or for an even more active day, you can bicycle along the beaches of Chioggia.

Bologna is a food lover’s paradise with unmatched specialty food stores and halls featuring locally made delicacies. Today we have the option to enjoy a full day excursion to Bologna and participate in a pasta-making workshop before enjoying lunch at one of Bologna’s most celebrated restaurants. Or, for lovers of art, you may choose to spend a half day in Ferrara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a hidden Renaissance treasure, before enjoying lunch onboard.

Day 10

Thu 27 July 2017
There’s no better place to indulge in Italy’s famed frutti di mare than Chioggia, a colorful fishing village on the Venice Lagoon. Today we’ll stroll through the town’s bustling fish market with a guide and enjoy a boat ride on the Chioggia Lagoon. Later, we head to the sun deck of our luxury ship to take in views of two more Venice Lagoon isles: sleepy Pellestrina, and Lido, home to the prestigious Venice Film Festival.

Day 11

Fri 28 July 2017
Today we will spend the day exploring the Venice Lagoon and three of its entrancing islands. We will stroll through Burano with its rainbow of colourful homes and visit a lace-making atelier. While on Mazzorbo, we’ll be treated to a very special wine tasting from a salt-water-tolerant heirloom grape, Dorona. Before heading back to Venice we will visit Torcello, home to the spectacular Byzantine mosaics.

Day 12

Sat 29 July 2017
Today we have the option to enjoy a “Do as the Locals Do” Venice walking tour. We will get a feel for daily life in Venice with a guided stroll through the bustling Rialto Market. Or, you might prefer to tour the renowned Accademia Gallery with an art historian and discover the wonder of the Venetian painters. This evening we will celebrate our last night onboard at the Captain’s Farewell Reception and Gala Dinner.

Today after breakfat we disembark the ship and transfer to our hotel for the evening. We will enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 14

Mon 31 July 2017
This morning we will check out of our hoteland be transferred to the airport for our flight
to Malta. On arrival into Malta we will be transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the
day is at leisure before enjoying a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 15

Tue 01 August 2017
Today we visit the capital Valletta and walk the Upper Barracca Gardens for a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour. We continue to St John’s Cathedral and the Grand Masters Palace. This afternoon is at leisure for us to
explore at our own pace.

Day 16

Wed 02 August 2017 B
Today we board a ferry for our full day trip to Gozo (9 hours).Gozo is the sister island of Malta and the legendary home of Calypso, daughter of Atlas. On our guided tour we will see the Ggantija prehistoric temples at Xaghra, visit Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem, the Azure Window and Fungus Rock. We will have lunch in a typical Gozitan village taverna, followed by a visit to the Citadel in the capital Victoria. This afternoon we will return to Malta by ferry.

Day 17

Thu 03 August 2017
Today we explore more of this beautiful location on a full day island tour that takes in Malta’s main sites (8 hours). We drive towards Mosta to visit the famous Dome, then visit Ta’ Qali Crafts Village to watch local artisans at work. We will have free time for shopping of local products at bargain prices followed by a traditional Maltese lunch, served in one of the village’s restaurants.

Day 18

Fri 04 August 2017
After breakfast we drive to Wied iz-Zurrieq to visit the beautiful Blue Grotto, where we take a boat trip to see the stunning underwater flora. Afterwards we continue to the pretty fishing village of Marsaxlokk to view the colourful fishing boats and marketplace on the picturesque harbour. This afternoon we return to our hotel.

Day 19

Sat 05 August 2017
We enjoy this morning at leisure before our transfer to the airport for our flight home to Mackay via Dubai and Brisbane. Arriving into Dubai just before midnight, we have a 10 hour transit stopover at the Dubai Airport Hotel.

Sun 06 August 2017
After our short stopover in Dubai we board our flight for Brisbane.

Day 21

Mon 07 August 2017
Upon our arrival into Brisbane, we complete Immigration, collect our luggage and go through Customs. Here we will say our goodbyes to the travellers finishing their journey in Brisbane. Travellers meeting a domestic connection in Brisbane will transfer to the Domestic Airport, for their onward journey. Our Host will continue onto Mackay, with our North Queensland travellers.
